NYUG Lending of Videos via ILL

Faculty and students from RLG institutions participating in the Share Program have free access for a month at a time upon presenting a valid institution ID card. If they would like to borrow, the fees are the same as for other patrons. This is not listed in the "short" form of the policy which is handed out to the public. However we always ask a patron if they are affiliated with another institution before selling them an access pass.

Guidelines:

All videorecordings may be loaned through ILL for two week use (LANE institutions), with the following exceptions:

  1. Titles readily available through public libraries or rental stores (i.e. most feature films).
  2. Videos placed on reserve for a course.
  3. Out-of-print or irreplaceable titles.
  4. Titles in heavy demand on campus.
  5. Those titles with purchase agreements that forbid lending to other institutions.

Videorecordings in a series will be loaned one at a time.

Conditions:

Institutions which borrow our videos through ILL must adhere to these conditions:

  1. Classroom use with instructor present or individual research use only.
  2. No copying.
  3. No renewals.
  4. Two week use.
  5. Return shipment by 2nd day delivery.

Each video loan will be marked with the date that the item is due back in the NYUG ILL office. Institutions returning videos 1-3 days late will be assessed a $20 late fee. After three days, the fee is $30. Repeated late returns will result in suspension of video borrowing privileges.

Please call (212) 998-2511 with any questions.
